Digging

Cleaned out some high up cabinets today with hubby's help cause I could not reach even with a step stool.

Like an archaeological dig.

I found things I didn't know I missed.

A Toastmaster Snackster :) ? Had we ever used it? I don't think so. But it looks like it might make a fun sandwich. I knew I had long since lost the instruction booklet so I searched on the Internet and found lots of info and recipes. The Cinnamon French toast sounds good.

Found my 3 metal loaf pans I needed to make the yummy Bill Blass meatloaf which my friend brought me when I was out with knee surgery. Will let you know how mine turns out.

Found odds and ends and this and that hiding way, way back in an inaccessible corner of a bottom cabinet. Who needs two cheap plastic lemon juicers?

It's amazing how stuff can get lost in kitchen cabinets.

Buddy watched intently as we carted stuff out of the cabinets. When a bottom cabinet was completely empty he checked it out throughly as if he might use it for a doggy den ;)

Good for you in getting a less-than-pleasant job done! I have been giving away/throwing away kitchen wares for about three years, now, and I can't tell the difference. Obviously, we had 'way too much stuff. (Especially for non cooks!)

Sounds as if you are recovering well, but try not to do too much. I like the idea of the dog sizing the cupboard up for a den.

Cop Car Now I need to tackle the rest of the house. Stuff multiplies when you turn your back

Freda, Good Advice. I guess I do need to conserve my strength more.

Bathroom cabinets are just as much of a mystery. I find things there I don't remember ever using.

Since breaking my hop I have things on the bottom shelves of my cabinets that I can no longer reach. I'm afraid to ask for help because they might find something growing there. ;0)

Don't you love it when you get a drawer or a cupboard completely cleaned out? I can't tell you how much I've given away or thrown out and I feel richer for doing so.
Also, thanks for the tip in your last blog entry.

Every so often I bite the bullet and clean out cupboards and closets, etc. I have way too much stuff in this house. It's hard to get started on a project like that; but it does feel good to get organized. Good for you Janet... ~Joy

That's what I need to do -- go through all my cabinets and rid myself of so many things I no longer use.

I need to go through all the cabinets, drawers and closets in this house, but there are always so many more fun things to do.

I should take your lead and do a little cleaning out myself.

Have a nice weekend!

So far I have donated three large bags of clothes to Big Brother- Big Sister. They "pick up" so that's an incentive to get things out of the house.

There is a lot more I need to get rid of but that was a start.

Now when I go to one of my closets there is space between the clothes.
I don't like to be crowded and I don't like my clothes to be crowded either.

Onward and upward - next rainy day I'll be (hopefully) getting rid of more stuff!!
