I need to post a new photo of Buddy. I will soon.
He is 13 months old now and a grown boy. He is such a comfort and a sweet companion for us. Especially for me.
He knows many words and follows me around the house. When I say "Upstairs" he bounds up the stairs and helps me load the washer and dryer.
He and I like watching "The Dog Whisperer" in the afternoons. His second favorite TV show is "Curious George" George is a brown and white monkey but Buddy thinks he is a dog.:)
He is of course fully potty trained and he loves to play ball. He doesn't quite get the concept of "fetch" He wants me to throw and fetch. :)He runs to get the ball but then wants to keep it.
The almost year long training process, sometimes hectic, has been worth it.
He is a treasure.
Have a Happy and Safe Labor Day.

Sounds like you're really enjoying your Buddy. One of my Mom's favorite songs, from WWI I think, was called "My Buddy."
I admire your perseverence training
Buddy. Much as I love dogs I just don't have the dedication right now that you have if I got a puppy.
Yes Joared. I too remember the song "My Buddy" a little before my time but somewhat timeless.
When we got Buddy and we were bringing him home in the car..just a little pup...our granddaughter suggested we name him "Buddy". Hmmm sounds good we said.
I started singing "My Buddy " to him as I held hiin the back seat.
"Nights are long since you went away
I think about you all through the day.
My buddy,,My buddy
Your buddy misses you" lol
Buddy sounds like such a sweetheart. I am so happy for both you and him. Would love to see a recent photo.
Ah, these Cavaliers. Such wonderful dogs. So good to read you this morning. Give Buddy a kiss from Amy and Oliver. (It's Olie's 11th birthday today.)

Glad you are enjoying him. I've said that when our two cats are gone I'll get another dog - but I'm not sure I want to try and house train another one. I was never good at that.
