Twitter?

I don't have a clue. I do not know what Twitter is or what Twitter does or what I could do with Twitter. Why would I want to Twitter? Would Twitter show up on my cell phone? If it did who would Twitter me?
What would they say. What would I say?

Might I Twitter this:

Watched "The Office" and "30 Rock" tonight.
Watched new detective show "Southland"
Good show..hard to follow
Relatives coming for holiday.
Dick Cheney is making an a** of himself.
Again.
Your time is up Dick.
Went to library.
Checked out"Me Talk Pretty One Day"
Sprinkled rain today
Windy yesterday
Blew fern off deck.
Shocked that Adam lost American Idol
Chris cute but no star power
Kara almost did striptease on Idol
I hate tattoos.
Played bridge on net tonite.
Getting sleepy
Going to bed and read.
Nite.

I love this post, because that is exactly the inane stuff that goes on twitter. I remember all the journalists making fun of bloggers as people in pajamas with nothing to say...now we have twitter!

no, not me neither. bit of a waste of time. besides, what with all this meaningless communicating, when do you get to live?

I have never visited Twitter so I can't comment on it, but I am sure the mundane things that go on in everyone's life can only be of interest to themselves.

Your list sounds like the sort of stuff my 20 yr old grandaughter texts all day long.
Twitter? Not for me.

Yep, that's exactly the kind of stuff that you can put on Twitter Chancy. But, twitter isn't for me either....I can barely keep up with my blogging these days.

Loved your "twitter" post. I twitter once in a while - still don't get it but it sure is catching on with many people, even surgeons!!

There is a benefit to it but I have yet to discover it.

Hope you enjoy "Me Talk Pretty One Day." My son recommended it to me several years ago as he enjoyed listening to the author on NPR. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and have purchased some subsequent ones of the author. Think I read his sister had written a book, or maybe I've confused him with someone else.

I especially got a kick out of his description of his speech therapy experience since that kind of work is right up my alley.
Maybe you'll review his book here.

As for Twitter -- that just seems crazy to me. Why on earth would anyone want to be giving a minute by minute account of their daily activities, much less anyone else read them? Get a life! But then, I've had some non-blogging people, in fact anti-blogging in their attitude, criticize blogging in much the same terms.

A little Twitter, a bit of Text Messaging (neither of which I do) and a dab of Blogging -- all goes a long way.
